American football club looks for new recruits

MAIDSTONE Pumas American Football Club are beginning the year with a recruitment day at Oakwood Park on Sunday.

The club are looking to recruit players, coaches, sideline assistants, physical trainers, sports therapists, statisticians -anyone with an interest in sport.

Maidstone Pumas compete in the South East Conference Division 2 in the British American Football League.

Head Coach John Earl is looking to increase the squad numbers from last year in order to improve the team’s chances of success in 2008.

The Pumas also have a youth section for under-18s and they too will be looking to recruit for their team on Sunday.

The session commences at 10am in Oakwood Park, Queens Road, Maidstone.

Regular practice sessions will then run every Sunday at the same time and location and anyone is welcome to come along and give the sport a try.
