MOTE Ladies Under 13s clinched their place in a national cricket final with an unbeaten run against south east rivals.

The eight-girl team from Maidstone turned in a convincing all-round performance to defeat all four other finalists in The Lady Taverners' regional contest at Bedford School on Sunday.

The squad of Laura Bassant, Charlotte Bishop, Zoe Broster, Hannah Mowbray, Claudia O'Connell, Riti Patel, Emma Perry and Zoe Sturgess all made useful contributions.

Team manager John Bassant said he was delighted with their achievement and looked forward to the national final in Birmingham on August 13.
