Barry Hawkins beats Switzerland’s Alexander Ursenbacher in round one of the World Snooker Championship

Barry Hawkins has eased into round two of the World Snooker Championship.
It’s the 10th time in a row that he has reached the last-16 of the game’s premier tournament.
The Ditton cueman clinched a 10-2 victory over Switzerland’s Alexander Ursenbacher in their round one match at the Crucible.
Hawkins’ 2020 challenge started on Tuesday night and he led 7-2 after the first session, completing a comfortable opening round win on Wednesday.
Opponent Ursenbacher was the first Swiss player to have made it to the finals at the Crucible, arriving after an impressive performance to beat 2019 semi-finalist Gary Wilson in the qualifiers.
World no.15 Hawkins has little trouble in seeing off the Swiss player, starting the second session with a break of 84 and not looking back. The 2013 finalist now meets world no.2 Neil Robertson in the second round.
The second round match gets underway on Saturday morning.
