Clovis Kamdjo won't have far to travel for Maidstone's home match against Eastbourne tonight.

Kamdjo has moved to the town following his arrival from St Albans this summer, relocating from Barking.

The former Barnet midfielder believes his game will benefit from living close to the Gallagher Stadium.

He said: "I don't want to be travelling every day so I've moved to the town to be closer to the club.

"It's a long season and I get stiff when I stay in the car for too long so I prefer to train, go back home and rest.

"Moving to the town was a good decision for me - I'm five minutes from the ground.

"Barking isn't that far - 35-40 minutes on a normal day - but with the traffic and the Dartford Tunnel it can be an hour and a half, which takes a lot out of you when you're doing it every day."

Kamdjo scored on his Maidstone debut at Hungerford on Saturday, having missed the first two games with a calf injury.

The second-half substitute grabbed the final goal in a 3-1 victory as United picked up their first points in National League South.

He said: "I did my calf a week into pre-season so it's been one of those where I've had to look after it, rest and do some rehab.

"It's slowed me down a bit but it's good to be back and to score a goal.

"I got six in the league last season and a couple in the cups.

"It's not my job to get goals - I'm there to keep the team shape and the team solid in midfield - but every now and then I'll chip in.

"If I do my job in midfield and we get a win, it doesn't matter who scores, but I think that third goal slowed Hungerford down."

Kamdjo could make his home debut against Eastbourne and feels Maidstone will kick on after their weekend win.

He said: "Losing the first two games wasn't really a true reflection because we played quite well - it was just little mistakes here and there.

"We've rectified that and got our first win, which is very important when you're a new group because it settles everyone down.

"I'm sure we'll go on from here."
