The third Kent FA Business Sixes Cup was decided on penalties.

Sota Solutions beat Bellway Kent on spot-kicks to win the Merit Group-sponsored tournament at Kings Hill Sports Park.

The event brought the perfect blend of business networking and sportsmanship as eight teams took to the 3G for the annual six-a-side.

The sun was shining, the goals were flying in, and connections were formed as participants from various industries showcased their skills.

Two groups of four teams battled through three fixtures each to determine the quarter-final line-up.

The first quarter-final saw TMG United defeat Kent FA, while Bellway Kent defeated ISG Joinery.

The two teams from DFDS met in the quarter-finals, and DFDS Logistics overcame DFDS Shipping to advance to the semi-finals.

The last remaining semi-final place was taken by Sota Solutions, who needed penalties to beat ISG Legends.

Both semi-finals were tight, with Bellway Kent beating TMG United 1-0 while Sota Solutions defeated DFDS Logistics 2-0.

The final was keenly contested, and the teams couldn’t be separated, so it came down to penalties, with Sota Solutions lifting the cup.

Mike Newton, director at tournament sponsors The Merit Group, said: “This was my first time on the pitch for a Business Sixes event, and I have to say I loved it.

“It was another fantastic Business Sixes hosted by Kent FA, with some great companies from across Kent competing.

“Merit was delighted to be able to sponsor the event. Teamwork and a strong work ethic are two of our key principles, and they’re also two things you need when competing in sports.

“It was a great day, and we look forward to next year.”

“This event perfectly encapsulated the spirit of teamwork and networking,” said Claire Whybrew, head of marketing and partnerships at the Kent FA.

“We wanted to create an atmosphere where people could showcase their football skills and develop new business relationships with like-minded companies.

“It was a great day, and we want to thank all the teams involved, the three-match officials, our friends, and event sponsor, the Merit Group and Kings Hill Sports Park for their hospitality.”
