Maidstone boss Jay Saunders is taking no notice of the Ryman League Premier Division title odds.

United have been made 10/1 third favourites, behind Margate (11/8) and Kingstonian (15/2).

Saunders said: "To be honest, I don't read anything into the odds.

"They are what they are but we'll just get on with what we're trying to do.

"Let's be honest, the team with the biggest budget and the biggest squad normally wins the league but it doesn't always work like that.

"Margate have brought in a hell of a lot of players and it can take time to settle.

"I did see an interview with Terry Brown (Gate boss) the other day where he said he might have to go back into the market because of injuries and that's where the money helps.

"It's something we couldn't do last year when we had all our injuries."
