Tim Reeves got two more wins under his belt

Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance continued the defence of their British F1 Sidecar title when they rode to a decisive double victory at Snetterton in Norfolk on Sunday.

The three times world champion, from Maidstone, dominated the action throughout qualifying on Saturday.

He unofficially smashed the lap record of 1m 09.04s that he set in last year’s race, with a time of 1m 08.69s, and then clinched pole position in Sunday’s final session.

He went on to take a decisive victory in each of the two championship races – the first in dry conditions and the second in torrential rain.

But the weather made no difference to Reeves as he powered the Eastern Airways LCR Suzuki to victory making it four wins from four races, collecting maximum points to head the leader board with a full house of 100 points.

He was unable to match the time set in qualifying and just missed out on the lap record by five-hundredths of a second with a time of 1.9.094s.

Reeves and Farrance made their debut on the F2 LCR 600cc machine at Snetterton where they contested the Bemsee F2 sidecar races using the track time as a test ahead of the British F2 Championship, which begins at Cadwell Park on May 5.

With the next round of the British F1 Sidecars removed from the race programme to make way for the postponed British Superbike championship at Brands Hatch on May 11, Reeves will have to wait until June 29 to continue his championship hopes in the F1 class.

Reeves, along with Patrick Farrance, will begin the defence of the World title with the opening round of the championship to be held at Donington Park over the weekend of May 24-26 as a guest race with the British Superbike championship.
