Maidstone made it three wins out of three in the Ryman League Premier Division after a seven-goal thriller at Bognor on Saturday.

Stones, with victories over Met Police and VCD behind them, trailed to Darren Wheeler's 27th-minute opener.

But Alex Brown's close-range attempt from Steve Watt's header down two minutes later quickly levelled the scores and then defender Watt put Stones ahead five minutes before half-time after a long throw-in by Alex Flisher.

It was 2-2 on 52 minutes as Alex Parsons was fouled by Sonny Miles, who was cautioned for his troubles, and Ben Johnson converted the resulting penalty.

But Maidstone restored their advantage as they raced into a 4-2 lead. A long ball saw Jay May set up strike partner Frannie Collin to score and then May collected his third goal in as many games after he took advantage of a howler from Bognor keeper Chris Winterton.

Maidstone introduced Ben Greenhalgh with 20 minutes remaining but they had to hold on in stoppage time as Parsons scored late on to ensure a nervy finale.
