Maidstone get the chance to clinch survival in front of their own fans today.

Two wins out of three from trips to Gateshead, Macclesfield and Wrexham have left Stones on the brink of safety.

They're five points clear of the National League bottom four in 15th place and will be home and dry with a win over Boreham Wood at the Gallagher this afternoon.

It's the sides' fourth meeting this season and the biggest yet as Maidstone bid to make themselves safe with three games to spare after a terrific run of one defeat in 11.

Boss Jay Saunders said: "They're a good side, especially going forward.

"They’re a real threat, as we’ve found in the past, so it’s a game we’ve got to prepare right for.

"If we were to win we could go above them and that’s our aim.

"As much as we want to make sure we’re in this league, we want to finish as high as we can.

"Luke Garrard’s got a good side there and they just fell short probably squad-wise on the play-offs but they’re a team with a lot of ability so it’s going to be a hard game for us.

"But we’re at home, hopefully we can get a good crowd there and get some more points."

Stuart Lewis, who suffered an ankle injury at Macclesfield last Tuesday, is a doubt. He missed the win over Wrexham and won't be rushed back.

Saunders said: "We’re not sure with Stu. His ankle’s got better.

"First analysis was that he was done for the season but he seems to feel better.

"He feels he’s got an outside chance for Monday. I think that might be pushing it to be honest but we’ll see."
