A young Maidstone side were beaten 5-1 by Charlton's development squad in the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Stones handed a debut to new signing George Porter but the tie was effectively over after 19 minutes with the Addicks 3-0 up.

They scored three times in four minutes through Karlan Ahearne-Grant (15 and 19) and Harry Gerard (17) to take control at the Gallagher Stadium.

Ben Greenhalgh, one of the few senior players on show, pulled a goal back in the final minute of the first half with a deflected strike from 12 yards.
