Staines Town 4 Maidstone United 2

A FIRST half hat-trick by Mark Nwokeji condemned Maidstone United to defeat in the Ryman League Premier Division at Staines Town on Saturday.

Nwokeji turned in Richard Butler's cross after just 10 minutes and doubled the lead 10 minutes later when he shrugged off Lee Shearer's challenge and found the bottom corner.

Maidstone briefly got back in the game when Jacob Erskine headed in a rebound from one yard after an initial header from Shearer.

But United's chances were effectively over a minute before the break when Nwokeji held off Nathan Paul and again found the corner.

Five minutes into the second half a massacre looked likely when Howard Goodell pounced inside the six yard box and Staines should have won by a far greater margin but instead Alex Tiesse scored his first league goal for 11 months to make the scoreline respectable.
