The Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone

About 100 tickets remain for Maidstone’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie against Welling – where the trophy itself will be on display.

The Wings have returned some of their allocation and these are on sale to home fans at the Gallagher Stadium until Friday at 6pm.

Tickets can only be bought in person – cash only – with prices £10 adults, £7 concessions and students, £4 11-16s and £1 under-11s. The tie is expected to be a 2,226 sell-out.

Such is the level of interest in the Kent derby, the FA Cup itself will be at the Gallagher and supporters will be able to have pictures taken with the trophy.

The sides’ last meeting in the FA Cup was in 1986, when Stones won a first-round replay 4-1 after a 1-1 draw at Park View Road. United eventually went out in the third round, losing to John Barnes’ Watford.

Maidstone last played in the first round in their final season as a Football League club in 1991. They beat Sutton United 1-0 at Watling Street but lost 2-1 to old Conference rivals Kettering in the second round.

The Stones’ best performance since reforming saw them reach the final qualifying round in 2008, losing 1-0 to AFC Wimbledon.
