New strike partners Michael Bakare and Tom Collins have already started to strike up an understanding at Tonbridge.

Bakare, who joined from Dover last week, scored on his debut in their 3-2 defeat at Farnborough on Tuesday.

He started alongside Hyde loanee Collins and Angels boss Tommy Warrilow liked what he saw. He said: “Considering it was the first time Michael Bakare and Tom Collins had met each other, there were some good signs. They’re both pacy.

“I’ve been a fan of Michael’s for a long time. I always looked at the (Dover) team sheet to see if Michael was playing or not.

“I know him from his Chelmsford days and what he can do, so I’m delighted to get him on board.”

An ankle injury has ruled Ryan Watts out of Saturday's trip to Staines and Lee Browning is still suspended but Chris Piper returns after illness.
