Tommy Warrilow expects Tonbridge Angels players to leave Longmead

Tonbridge manager Tommy Warrilow is resigned to losing some of his best players this summer.

Angels goalkeeper Lee Worgan is one of several players considering rival offers and Warrilow has already begun the search for replacements.

It is now two weeks since the regular Blue Square Bet South season finished and the Tonbridge boss is being realistic about his summer dealings.

He said: “We’ve put the offers in and some of them have had a couple of weeks to think about it.

“I think they would have signed by now if they were going to stay.

“The lads have had contact from other clubs and they’re weighing up their options. You can’t take it personally. If the lads move on to bigger and better clubs, good luck to them.

“It’s not nice but it happens. We won’t be the only club to lose players. You have to get out there and identify targets to come in.

“A few lads have created a bit of interest and Worgs is one of them. All we can do is put an offer to him and hope he wants to stay.”

Warrilow is meeting with one of eight potential new signings on Friday. Meanwhile, captain Gary Elphick has committed to another season at Longmead.
