Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow has welcomed Ebbsfleet’s spending power.

Angels’ Conference South rivals have a transfer budget of £100,000 and this week spent £13,000 on Dover midfielder Daryl McMahon.

Fleet’s money makes them favourites to win the league but Warrilow wishes them nothing but luck.

He said: “I played for and captained the old Gravesend & Northfleet, so I hope it’s a long-lasting relationship with the new owners.

“I’m not a bitter manager who will moan about how much money they have. It’s exciting for the league and underlines how much stronger it will be.

“If we try to compete with them financially we’d be in trouble but there’s still loads of good players out there.

“I’ve had plenty of calls from people wanting to sign because they’ve heard good things about the club.”
