The appointment of a new Maidstone manager could be imminent after caretaker boss Steve Watt announced he's left the club.

Watt had been in charge since Jay Saunders' departure two weeks ago, losing all three of his games 1-0.

He announced on Twitter this morning his time at the Gallagher is up.

Watt said: "I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the fans for their unbelievable support over the last few weeks, through a very difficult period.

"It's with regret that my time with the club has come to an end again.

"It was always a wish of mine since leaving to return at some point to be part of the club again and I can't thank Jay enough for bringing me back. I wish you all nothing but success, you fans deserve it."
