After being released from hospital he was interviewed under caution by police, and has now been released as the investigation continues.

Officers want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the van as it travelled from the Hop Farm roundabout in Paddock Wood, along the A228, Seven Mile Lane, and the A26, to the scene of the incident.

Police are particularly interested in hearing from the occupants of a black Mini, black Citroen, white Ford Fiesta, and a vehicle towing a green horse trailer.

If you have not already done so, call the serious crash investigation unit appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting reference MW/181/17.
