A bus went the wrong way at a busy junction this morning, crashing into a signpost.

The bus hit the post at the junction of Chaucer Way and Gighill Road in Larkfield around 10am.

Police attended the incident and no injuries were reported.

Arriva has been approached for a comment.

Kevin Root, Arriva’s general manager at its Maidstone depot, said: “We are investigating the incident in Larkfield but believe the driver reacted instinctively and swerved to avoid a cat.

“Fortunately there were no passengers aboard and the driver escaped without injury.”
