Drivers experienced delays on a busy motorway this morning due to a car fire.

The Ford Mondeo blaze was reported shortly before 6.50am, just after the exit slip road to the J4 roundabout of the M20.

Police and firefighters attended the scene and all three lanes were closed.

Two of the lanes reopened shortly after, and the third reopened at around 8am.

Traffic continued to queue until around 9am.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used compressed air foam to tackle the blaze and left the scene at 7.25am. Two fire engines were required.

No injuries were reported.
