Police have re-opened all lanes on the M20 after moving vehicles involved in an earlier accident to the hard shoulder.

Lane three of the motorway London-bound between J5 for the A20 and and J4 for the A228 (Leybourne/Snodland), was closed from around 6.10am, but re-opened just before 7am.

Queues which had backed up to J7 A249 (Maidstone/Detling Hill) are now clearing, but traffic on the A20 around the Larkfield area is also very heavy with motorists trying to avoid the motorway.

Congestion on M20

Kent Police said: "We were called at 6.11am to a report of a collision involving four vehicles on the M20 between Junctions 4 and 5.

"Officers attended the scene and no injuries have been reported."
