Commuters faced delays on the M20 this morning after fuel was spilled on the motorway.

A lane of the coast-bound carriageway was shut at around 7.50am while the road was cleared.

It was expected to reopen at 8.54am.

It was followed by an accident at Blue Bell Hill where a lane of the slip-road was closed between the Lord Lees Roundabout and the A229.

It happened just after 8.10am in the south-bound lane and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

This crash caused delays back on to the M2 in both directions.
