Traffic is still very slow on the M20 westbound after police halted the flow of vehicles.

Officers were called just after 3.45pm after a distressed man was reported to be on a footbridge crossing the M20 between Junctions 4 (Leybourne) and 5 (Aylesford).

Police took the man to a place of safety.

Traffic was held on the M20 between junctions 4 and 5.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed that a rolling road block was in place for a short time but all lanes have now re-opened.
