M26 reopens after crash and oil spill

A driver has been taken to hospital following a motorway crash and oil spill.

Emergency services were called to the accident on the coastbound carriageway of the M26 between Junction 1 and 2a just before 10.40am.

The crash was between Junction 5 of the M25 and Junction 3 of the M20 and forced the closure of one lane.

Police are at the scene (5947210)

Police, SECAmb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were all in attendance and the road was reopened by 1pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We were called to a collision involving two vehicles on the M26 between Junction 1 and 2A at 10.43am.

"Officers are currently at the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service."

Motorists are warned to expect delays.
