Traffic was brought to a halt on the M26 after a horse was on the carriageway.

Highways England officers attended the scene after a vehicle reportedly broke down and animals were seen on the road.

Traffic was stopped between junction 2a for Wrotham and the junction one for the M25 at Sevenoaks.

Traffic conditions have returned to normal.
