M20 shut at Wrotham Hill due to loose horses

With long queues of lorries, they were scenes you would usually expect to see in relation to Operation Stack.
But last night there was traffic chaos on the M20 for a different reason.
The motorway was shut London-bound after nine horses trotted onto the carriageway at the bottom of Wrotham Hill, near J2.
They were reported to police at 12.20am, leading to a rolling road-block being put in place.
By 2am they had been secured in a nearby field, and the motorway was reopened shortly afterwards.
