A man is due in court over the alleged serious assault of a woman in Snodland and attempted arson.

The incident happened in May Street just before noon on Tuesday.

Kyle Allen, 31, of Cantium Place, was arrested on Wednesday and has now been charged with attempted arson with intent to endanger life, grievous bodily harm, four counts of actual bodily harm, fraud and common assault.

He has been remanded in custody to appear magistrates today.
