Man in hospital after van hit lamp post at Teapot Lane and A20 London Road junction Aylesford

A man has been taken to hospital after a van struck a lamp post and rolled.

Police, SECAmb, Kent Fire and Rescue (KFRS), and the air ambulance all attended.

KFRS was called at 9.45am this morning to reports of a person trapped in a vehicle at the A20 junction with Woodlands Road in Aylesford.

Emergency services at the scene of the incident.

One fire engine attended and the man was already free when it arrived.

Firefighters gave him first aid and requested paramedics who took over when they arrived.

SECAmb attended the scene where the man was then treated for a head injury after being knocked unconscious and has since been taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further medical attention.

The van overturned at the A20 London Road Junction with Teapot Lane.
The van was badly damaged in the crash.

Kent County Council Highways were also alerted to the fallen street lamp with possibly exposed wires.

Traffic is moving slowly in both directions and drivers are being told to expect delays.
