West Malling man sentenced for a number of offences around west Kent

A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to 10 different offences.

The charges included burglary, abstracting electricity, receiving stolen goods and shoplifting.

Anthony Bashford, of Ewell Avenue, West Malling, has been sentenced to 266 days in prison.

The 41-year-old was sentenced on September 8 at Medway Magistrates' Court.

On February 4 Bashford abstracted electricity worth an unknown amount in Ewell Avenue.

He drove an MG ZR without a license and insurance on the same road on March 2, before being stopped in a Volvo for the same offence in King Street, West Malling, on June 8.

Between May 7 and June 8 he received a number of stolen items, including a sheaf knife, tent bag, and car radio, to the value of £170.

He then burgled a plant nursery in Teston Road, Offham, with the intention of stealing on May 15.

Between July 12-17 he stole a camera worth £400 from a shop in Kingstanding Way, Tunbridge Wells and he stole a TV worth £300 from a supermarket in Mills Road, Aylesford.

Bashford has been sentenced to 266 days in prison and is on the receiving end of a two year driving ban.

He must also pay a £330 fine, £255 costs, a £180 criminal courts charge and a £95 victim surcharge.
