Wrotham theft suspects found with skeleton keys and knives

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft after a set of skeleton keys, two knives, a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench were found in their car.

The men, aged 28 and 23 and both from Essex, were arrested on the A20 at Wrotham Heath shortly before 4am on Friday.

The items were discovered when officers searched their car under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A small amount of cannabis was also located.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at around 10.30pm last night. Stock picture.

The 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis and going equipped for theft.

The 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft.

Both men have been bailed until Monday, March 26, while inquiries continue.
