Missing woman Tania Dasilva’s body found in mobile cabin in New Hythe

A 55-year-old woman who went missing from her home more than a month ago has been found dead inside a mobile unit in New Hythe.

Brazilian-born Tania Dasilva was last seen by her family on Saturday, October 29 when she left home in north London to take her dog for a walk.

She was reported missing the following day and a search was launched by the Metropolitan Police.

Mrs Dasilva, a carer who was married to carpenter Valdevane Dasilva, was also listed on charity website Missing People.

On Monday, November 21, her body was discovered in what is termed a mobile welfare unit at Pickerings Plant Ltd in New Hythe Business Park, New Hythe, near Aylesford – 35 miles from her home in West Green, Haringey.

The business rents out mobile accommodation units for building sites or outside events. The cabins can accommodate six people and offer kitchen and toilet facilities.

An inquest into Mrs Dasilva’s death was opened and adjourned at Archbishop’s Palace, Maidstone.

The hearing was told pathologist Dr David Rouse carried out a post mortem examination at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham, which revealed she died due to an obstruction in her airway, though further details were not disclosed.

A police spokesman said “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner. Next of kin have been informed.”

Pickerings Plant Ltd rents out static and mobile units and generators from 11 depots in England.

The inquest has been adjourned for a review on Friday, January 13.
