Seven people including an 18 month old baby were hospitalized and a dog was killed in a five vehicle high speed crash on a busy stretch of motorway.

The multi-vehicle pile up happened just before 11pm yesterday (Boxing Day) on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 between Junction 3 for Borough Green and Junction 2 for Wrotham and involved four cars and a lorry.

A woman in her 30s was taken to Kings College Hospital with a fractured jaw and other injuries, along with a man in his 50s and an 18-month-old baby who both had non-life threatening head injuries.

Police, two fire engines and six ambulances attended and one casualty was cut from a vehicle, with crews leaving the scene after two hours.

Serious delays were reported and traffic was diverted via the M26 as emergency crews worked through the night to clear the debris, with the road reopened at 3.30am.
