An engineering yard could be replaced with nine new homes, if a recently submitted planning application is approved.

OTG Precision Engineering has applied to Tonbridge and Malling council for permission to demolish its mill building and other units on its site in Maidstone Road, Platt, and to replace them with two rows of terraced homes.

Each house would be of two-and-a-half storeys and would have two allocated parking spaces. In addition an extra three visitor spaces would be provided.

The company said the new buildings would be constructed and designed in a manner to be sympathetic to the appearance of the existing mill building.

Details of the plans can be viewed here. Planning application 23/01317 refers.

The company had previously obtained permission to redevelop the site for eight homes but that was never implemented.
