Parents are being warned after reports that a man had tried to entice a girl into his car near a primary school.

The Year 8 pupil from Wrotham School had been walking down Station Road in Borough Green at 8.15am today when a car reportedly pulled up alongside her.

The man was said to have opened his window and said: "excuse me miss can you get in my car as I need to go some place."

The pupil was from Wrotham School

The student managed to run off but was shaken by what had happened.

The car was described as white, with black lines down the bonnet.

The man was either bald or had very fair hair, and was wearing a dark green flat cap. There was also a woman with short blonde hair in the car, as well as lots of black bags.

A warning has been issued to nearby schools, and Leybourne SS Peter and Paul Primary School has sent a letter out to parents.

Police enquiries are ongoing and an appointment has been made to meet with the girl and her mother.

Today, another school issued a warning after a man followed a 14-year-old girl for three days before trying to grab her.

Officers are also investigating a similar incident after two men reportedly tried to entice a Tonbridge schoolboy into their van near Tonbridge railway station yesterday.

They are said to have asked him to get in the vehicle before driving away.
