Edenbridge: Man in his 80s found dead in lake

A pensioner's body has been pulled from a lake in Edenbridge.

The man, aged in his 80s, was found in the water near Black Robins Farm in Grants Lane.

Police were called at around 8pm last Tuesday after a member of the public made the grim discovery.

The air ambulance and paramedics also attended but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "He has yet to be formally identified but his next of kin have been informed.

"The death is being treated as unexplained but at this stage there is no indication of any third party involvement.

"A file will be submitted to the Surrey Coroner’s Office in due course."
