Two women and a man have been taken to hospital following a crash in Crittenden Road, Matfield

Three people have been taken to hospital following a four-car pile-up in Matfield.

Police were called to the crash, which happened in Crittenden Road at the junction with Colts Hill, at 11.50am.

The accident involved a blue Nissan Micra, black Peugeot 307, black Honda Civic and grey VW CC.

Two women and a man were taken to hospital.

One woman, thought to have been driving one of the cars, is thought to be in a serious condition.

The man was trapped and had to be rescued from his car.

The road has been closed and a diversion is in place.
