Man rescued after three-vehicle crash on A228, Snodland

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash involving two cars and a tipper truck in Snodland.

A man had to be cut free by firefighters and taken by ambulance to London's King's College Hospital with serious injuries following the accident on the A228 bypass, at the junction with Sortmill Road.

The trapped driver was in a silver Peugeot estate and police confirmed the other vehicles involved were a blue Scania tipper truck and a blue Audi S4.

The crash happened shortly before 12.45am.

A 33-year-old man from the Snodland area has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.

He is currently in police custody.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now asking anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Aaron Hammond said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or have dash cam footage of it, to contact us.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw or who has dash cam footage of the vehicles being driven before the collision."

The road was closed from the early hours of the morning until around 1pm.
