Wartime bomb found at building site in Gibson Drive, Kings Hill

Bomb disposal experts are attempting to remove an explosive from the Second World War found in a building site.

Kent Police was called at around 6.20pm yesterday to Gibson Drive in Kings Hill after the discovery of the suspected wartime ordnance.

Several buildings in the area have been evacuated, including the Kings Hill Community Centre and Infinity Gym, while an exclusion zone has been set up.

Surrounding roads are closed while the Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team try to safely dispose of it.

As a precaution, roads in the area are expected to stay shut throughout the day.
