Pride in Medway

Nominees for a Pride in Medway award will gather tonight (Friday) to have their achievements recognised.

The annual event is sponsored by Medway Council, mhs homes, the University of Kent, E.ON and the Medway Messenger, and recognises those who have made positive contributions in Medway.

A certificate ceremony will take place at Priestfield's banqueting suite, in Redfern Avenue, starting at 5pm.

Deputy mayor Cllr Barry Kemp will present the certificates.

Sarah Clarke, news editor for the Medway Messenger, said: "I'm very much looking forward to this evening.

"We have heard such incredible stories through the Pride in Medway awards and it will be wonderful to meet some of Medway's unsung heroes."

Finalists will then be invited to a gala evening on Saturday, February 27, at the Pilkington Building on the Medway universities site.
