The development, built by Medway’s largest landlord, mhs homes, in partnership with Chartway Group, has 12 one and two-bedroom apartments available on a shared ownership basis and 11 available for affordable rent.

Outline planning permission was granted for the flats in 2011, despite 40 letters of objection from residents concerned about traffic and parking.

Two apprentices were recruited to help with the construction, which began in November 2012 and will be officially completed in the coming weeks.

Others include St Andrew’s Park, Halling, Amherst Hill, Gillingham, and Marlborough Road, Gillingham. The schemes will provide almost 50 affordable homes.

Prices for the one-bedroom apartments at Cozenton Point start from £40,250, bought on a shared ownership basis.

Rainham police station closed, along with stations in Chatham and Rochester, when the new
£21 million police station opened in Gillingham.
