Armed police called after reports of suspect carrying weapon in Brompton

Armed police were sent to Brompton today after reports of a person carrying a weapon.

Kent Police say they were called to Melville Court, Chatham, at around 11.25am following "a reported sighting of a weapon."

Officers supported by armed patrols attended the location and arrested a man and woman in connection with the incident.

A second man was arrested in connection with the incident shortly afterwards at the Pentagon Shopping Centre, in the town centre.
