Man arrested after another man found unconscious found at St Mark's Church, Gillingham

A man has been arrested after another man was found unconscious near a church.

Officers taped off St Mark's in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, while they investigate the incident.

Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called at 5.59am.

The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The arrested man remains in custody.

A worker from the Burger King opposite described how the place of worship had been cordoned off but no roads have been closed.
