The River Project, the interactive art exhibition that has taken over Sun Pier, will culminate tomorrow night with refreshments to celebrate the project.

The exhibition has allowed visitors to join in with the creation of a large mural devoted to the River Medway.

From 6:30-8:30pm on Friday, January 26, people will be invited for refreshments from Kent-based breweries to toast the exhibition.

The River Project will culminate tomorrow night with with refreshments to celebrate the project.

Previous walk-ins and events have been well attended, attracting families who can work towards a common goal with their children.

Co-curator Nikki Gardham said: "Everything has been about collaboration, and we've been so grateful for the time and effort people have devoted to the project."

When asked whether this was the end for The River Project, Nikki insisted this wasn't the case.

"We want to apply for funding for future projects, and perhaps develop future ideas around different rivers. We also hope we can progress in the Medway area and work with some local community projects."

The majority of the mural is set to go to Medway Maritime Hospital, with schools that have participating also receiving portions of the artwork.

The project, for one more day, can be found at Sun Pier House, Medway Street, Chatham.
