A mother-of- two has made a renewed appeal to find her autistic son's missing cat.

Keeley Richards and 12-year-old Liam have been carrying out a frantic search since Ranger failed to return to the family home in Frindsbury about three weeks ago.

But now the country is in lockdown they are unable to venture outdoors to follow up possible sightings and put up posters appealing for help to find him.

Keeley, 41, also mum to Rhys,10, said: "Liam's whole world has come crumbling down. He chose him, he feeds him, he's his safety net, he's his baby.

"He's the only person he does anything for. Now he will only stay in the front room because his bedroom has too many memories for him. He's at crisis point."

Keeley, a teaching assistant, got a tip-off that a family in Albany Road, Gillingham, had taken him in. But when she and Liam turned up to collect him, Ranger had once again gone missing.

Keeley, of Marden Road, said: "He had a panic attack in the people's house as he didn't know they had lost him. He is really reliant on him.

"We all love him, he is our family but for Liam he is so important."
