Karen Sennett at Medway Magistrates' Court after baby falls from window in Station Road, Rainham

A woman has appeared in court charged with child neglect after a baby fell from a block of flats.

The toddler plunged from a window in Station Road, Rainham on Tuesday, August 5.

The baby was taken by ambulance to King's College Hospital, London where she underwent an operation but was later released.

It is believed the little girl suffered head and chest injuries in the fall.

Karen Sennett, 31, of Station Road, Rainham was arrested and later charged with child neglect.

She appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Sennett indicated a not guilty plea in relation to the charge and the case was sent to Maidstone Crown Court.

Sennett will next appear there on November 14.
