Man's body found in Vinall Park off Broadway in Twydall but is not being treated as suspicious

A man has been found dead in a park in Gillingham.

Officers were called to Vinall Park in Twydall yesterday evening, after the body was discovered by a woman living nearby.

It is understood the neighbour called in the police who also sent forensic officers to the site to carry out their investigations.

The park, off Broadway and Locarno Avenue, is surrounded by homes and has a children’s play park at one end near Geneva Avenue and is popular with dog walkers.

The body was found about 8.15pm and officers are preparing a report for the coroner. The man’s family has been informed.

A spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 8.14pm on Monday, October 19, to a report that the body of a man had been found in Vinall Park, Locarno Avenue, Gillingham.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are preparing a report for the coroner. Next of kin have been informed.”

Police have not yet released details of how old the man was or where he was from.
