Traffic moving on M2 London-bound near Strood following car fire

There were severe delays on a motorway due to a car fire.

All lanes have since re-opened on the M2 London-bound from Junction 1 for Strood to Junction 2 near Sundridge Hill.

There are delays following the car fire

Emergency services were in attendance at around 5pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a vehicle fire on the M2 London-bound, between junction 1 for Strood and junction 2 for Sundridge Hill.

"Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out with a hose reel jet. There were no reported casualties."
