A bar worker was injured as he was robbed of his mobile phone as his attackers then fled in his car.

The man, who is believed to work at the Oliver’s Bar & Restaurant in Rochester High Street, was approached by a man in the car park in nearby Victoria Street, at about 2.25pm on Wednesday Dec 4.

The robber then assaulted him and stole his phone before driving off in a blue Seat Ibiza with another man who was also there.

Police are now investigating the car-jacking and say the victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Stephen Barker, of nearby S&J News, which is also in the High Street, said: “The manager of a bar near S&J News was assaulted in the back car park and had his car stolen - two dodgy guys had been hanging around all day.

A spokesman for police added: “The victim suffered minor head and face injuries and was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing."
