A pub in Rainham has had its licensing conditions changed after a bottle was thrown at a woman.

Licensing officers requested a review of the licence from The Cricketers Inn following reports of anti-social behaviour, including an incident in which a glass bottle was thrown on Saturday July 21.

A licensing review hearing was held at Medway Council on Wednesday July 25 and it was agreed that new conditions should be imposed on Friday and Saturday nights at the pub, until a full review hearing on Tuesday August 21.

They stipulate that the pub can only trade up until 11pm; drinks will be served in plastic glasses after 8pm; four door staff will be employed from 8pm; and the designated premises supervisor will be replaced.

Licensing officer PC Chris Hill said: "We were concerned at the level on anti-social behaviour taking place at this pub which should be a place visitors can enjoy and feel safe when inside. We rightly took action and I’m pleased with today’s outcome."
