Chatham man charged in connection with theft of war medals

A man will appear before magistrates after being charged in connection with the theft of jewellery and two war medals.

Police was called out to an address in Jenkins Dale, in Chatham, on July 25, after reports several items of jewellery, a navy medal from the First World War along with one from the Second World War were missing from the property.

The home was owned by an elderly woman who had recently died.

Brendan Cameron, 29, of Jenkins Dale, was charged with theft, fraud, possession of a class A drug – crack cocaine, possession of a controlled drug of class B - cannabis and possession of a class A controlled drug – heroin.

Cameron has been granted bail and will appear at Medway Magistrates' Court, on Monday, September 2.
