Chatham man treated after TV shock

A man had to be treated for breathing smoke after his TV caught alight early this morning.

Firefighters were called out to Mount Road, Chatham, at about 5.30am but the fire was out when they arrived.

However, the property was smoked logged and the crew ventilated the house and the man, thought to be in his 20s was treated by paramedics.

The crew were at the scene for about 10 minutes.
